Svetla Ilieva found her real passion in life in the magic of the Celtic harp and has dedicated her efforts to transferring these inspiring feelings in her performances. She has participated in charity concerts, played at the opening of contemporary photographic and art exhibitions and has contributed to the unique atmosphere of other events such as International Festival in the open air, Christmas events and concert, book presentations, ladies parties, private happenings and weddings.
Her various interests, including Master’s degrees in Archaeology, Egyptology and yoga instructor’s license combine perfectly with the harp playing, allowing her to experiment in the field of ancient culture and art. She has participated in various projects such as recitation of the harpists songs of Ancient Egypt, recitals at the Ancient Thracian rock sanctuaries, concerts, accompanying archaeological excavations in the Rhodope mountains, etc.
During 2015 she was a resident performer at the 5-star TAJ Group’s flagship hotel - the iconic Taj Mahal hotel in New Delhi where she performed for global dignitaries.
Her repertoire is rich and diverse, comprising classical, Celtic, jazz-rock, pop, movie soundtracks and folk music and she is open for multi-cultural musical experience.
Svetla has been giving me harp lessons for three months now, both live and online. Thanks to her attitude, I have found my own approach to this complicated and hard instrument. She helps me understand the logic of the harp so that I can feel and comprehend it better. We advance very quickly together, because working with Svetla gives me a lot of serenity, understanding and confidence. She manages to show me my mistakes in a very precise but easy manner, which helps me progress effortlessly. She teaches me to enjoy and relax into the music, which is extremely important for me. My love for the harp grows every day. I am grateful.
Through her harp, Svetla brought a lot of harmony, beauty and joy to the children in the Creative Center “Under the Rainbow”. The charm of her music and the harp, combined with Svetla’s soothing and warm approach, made the children pause for a moment, submerge into the music and become more creative. There were several sessions in which the children listened, drew and enjoyed fairytales together with Svetla’s music. With each next meeting, they became more harmonized and their affinity to music grew. Thank you!
